Holland v Japan

Holland won their opening match but they were not exactly tested defensively against Denmark, luckily for them Japan don't seem to have a lot going forward either so Holland will be looking to keep another clean sheet.

A draw would be a massive result for Japan, who probably weren't expecting to come into this game with three points, but they might have to wait until they face Denmark before they have a chance of getting any more points.

Holland v Japan Match Odds

Match betting is a massively popular market and the first market most punters choose to look at as your decision in this market is likely to impact all other bets you place on the game.

BACK HOLLAND TO BEAT JAPAN

Japan are no mugs but they are simply not in the same class as Holland and this will probably be the easiest game for Holland at the 2010 World Cup. Unfortunately Holland's chances of winning this match are reflected in their price so unless you are one for taking fairly short odds you might end up finding some better value bets in some of the markets that are examined below. Either way, Holland are almost certain winners for this game and there should be relatively few scares for backers of the Dutch.

Holland v Japan Asian Handicap Odds

The Asian Handicap is an interesting bet as it usually gives one team a lead that should be enough to cancel out any superiority the favourites for the game have.

BACK HOLLAND -1

Holland look pretty likely to win this game by more than one goal given the amount of attacking talent they have and the difference in class between the two teams and the odds on Holland -1 in the asian handicap are very surprising. Fortunately they are surprisingly generous and it is well worth having a bet on Holland -1 in the asian handicap market.

Holland v Japan Goals Odds

Take a look at recent results for the two sides to help decide what the best bets are in the over/under betting and also the correct score market.

BACK HOLLAND TO WIN 2-0 AND TO WIN TO NIL

Holland won all eight of their qualifying games but they were very low scorers in those games. Holland conceded just two goals in qualifying but didn't score many either, their highest scoring game was 4-0 against Macedonia and Japan should be better than that. At most you will probably see Holland scoring three goals in this game.

Japan played in a much less competitive qualifying section so their results cannot be taken at face value. They scored eleven and conceded six in eleven games against much weaker teams so it shows they probably won't score against the better teams and also conceded a few goals.

Holland looked a great attacking threat against Denmark and they look most likely to score twice, and they certainly shouldn't concede, so they should be backed to win 2-0 and to nil.

Holland v Japan Player Odds

Some of the most fun markets to bet on are the player markets, such as first goalscorer and anytime goalscorer. They are usually relatively big odds and can give plenty of reward if you pick correctly.

Holland v Japan Team News

Holland will be expecting their stars such as Robin Van Persie, Wesley Sneijder and Rafael Van Der Vaart to start this game and they have no major problems to report at the moment. As for Japan, they will need to be at full strength to give Holland a game here.

BACK ROBIN VAN PERSIE AND WESLEY SNEIJDER TO SCORE ANYTIME

Holland don't really have anyone who is going to score all the goals for them and since they are likely to share them round it looks an ideal opportunity to back a few of them in the anytime goalscorer markets. Robin Van Persie is always a threat and is worth the most confident bet to score anytime but midfielders Rafael Van Der Vaart and Wesley Sneijder are also expected to chip in with some goals at the World Cup and both could get their names on the scoresheet here, although Sneijder is a more confident call between the two. Japan are unlikely to have the attacking talent to trouble the Holland number one too many times.

Holland v Japan Half Time Odds

The latest tips that include the half time result in them, some of the most popular bets here are half time result and half time/full time.

BACK DRAW / HOLLAND IN THE HALF TIME / FULL TIME BETTING

Japan already have three points so are likely to play for the draw here, expect them to start very defensively. Holland took a while to get going against Denmark and they may initially struggle to break down the Japanese, before eventually scoring their goals in the second half.

Holland v Japan Best Bet

BACK HOLLAND TO WIN 2-0

Holland winning to nil came close to being the best bet but at the comparative odds it seemed a better value shout to go for Holland winning 2-0. It would be a major surprise is Holland were able to put four past Japan and although there is a slight chance of 3-0 and a better chance of 1-0, the most likely scoreline looks to be the 2-0 win for the Dutch.
