Argentina v South Korea

Both of these countries look like they will struggle to match their best World Cup performances. Argentina won the World Cup in 1978 and 1986 and South Korea reached the semi finals in 2002 and both countries have seen better days.

South Korea still must prove they weren't massively flatered by their performance in 2002 (playing at home with Guus Hiddink as manager) and they have their work cut out in this match.

Argentina v South Korea Match Odds

Match betting is a massively popular market and the first market most punters choose to look at as your decision in this market is likely to impact all other bets you place on the game.

BACK ARGENTINA TO BEAT SOUTH KOREA

Argentina were hardly impressive against Nigeria but they did seem to improve as the game went on and they do still have plenty of improvement left in them so it should pay to back them agaisnt the South Koreans, who admittedly looked good against Greece but Greece looked very poor so it may be best not to take that performance at face value.

Argentina v South Korea Asian Handicap Odds

The Asian Handicap is an interesting bet as it usually gives one team a lead that should be enough to cancel out any superiority the favourites for the game have.

BACK ARGENTINA -1

Argentina seem more capable of winning this game by a couple of goals than South Korea do of getting a draw and the odds currently available on Argentina -1 look very generous when you consider the difference in quality of players the two sides have. Argentina have plenty of great attackers capable of scoring and that is always worth considering in a bet like this.

BACK ARGENTINA TO WIN 2-1 AND OVER 2.5 GOALS

The World Cup has been very low scoring so far but there is an opportunity for either side to secure qualification in this game with both sides having won their first match. Both teams scored in their first matches and created many more chances and with a bit more clinical finishing this time around there could be a few goals. South Korea failed to score in just one of their final six qualifiers so they should get amongst the goals as well as Argentina and that should lead to a 2-1 win for Argentina and certainly a fixture that creates over 2.5 goals.

Argentina v South Korea Player Odds

Some of the most fun markets to bet on are the player markets, such as first goalscorer and anytime goalscorer. They are usually relatively big odds and can give plenty of reward if you pick correctly.

BACK GONZALO HIGUAIN TO SCORE FIRST AGAINST SOUTH KOREA

Argentina have the two top scorers from La Liga here who managed 61 goals between them and the highest scorer in that league was Lionel Messi, and he looks a fair bet to score at anytime during this match. An even better bet though could be backing Gonzalo Higuain to score first. Sergio Aguero scored more goals in qualifying but Higuain has been given the nod over him and his eye for goal has been proven for Real Madrid this season, Higuain is a nice price to score first against South Korea.

Argentina v South Korea Half Time Odds

The latest tips that include the half time result in them, some of the most popular bets here are half time result and half time/full time.

BACK ARGENTINA / ARGENTINA IN THE HALF TIME / FULL TIME BETTING

It didn't take Argentina long to score against Nigeria and with one of the most attacking games of the World Cup so far predicted here there are likely to be goals or at least a goal in the first half. Argentina looked more of an attacking threat in the second half of their match, despite not scoring in it, and they can score early and then go on to win the game with more goals in the second half, back Argentina to be winning at half time and full time.

Argentina v South Korea Best Bet

BACK OVER 2.5 GOALS

Although recent World Cup evidence suggests this could be yet another low scoring game, two attacking teams meeting here in circumstances which dictate that attacking play will be rewarded (with qualification) should result in a few goals, which is great news for neutrals and even better news for backers of over 2.5 goals.
